TOI-2128 b: A Super-Earth Orbiting a Star

TOI-2128 is a star 119 light-years away, with an age of 4.7 billion years, a mass of 1.03 solar masses, and a radius of 1.12 solar radii. Its temperature is 5970 K, hotter than the Sun's, and its radius is larger than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

TOI-2128 b is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2024. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet's radius is 2.09 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 4.5 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's. Its orbital period is 16.3 days. The mean density is 2.72 g/cm³, 0.494 times Earth's.
