TOI-2120 and Its Super-Earth

TOI-2120 is a star 105 light-years away with a reported mass of 0.211 solar masses and a radius of 0.245 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 3130 K. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this host.

That planet, TOI-2120 b, is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2024. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. TOI-2120 b has an orbital period of 5.8 days and a radius of 2.12 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its mass is a reported upper limit of 6.8 Earth masses.
