TOI-1820: A Distant Star With a Single Known Planet

TOI-1820 is a star 811 light-years away with an age of 11 billion years, a mass of 1.04 solar masses, a radius of 1.51 solar radii, and a temperature of 5730 K. Its reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's. One planet has been found in orbit around TOI-1820.

That planet is TOI-1820 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered in 2022 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius is 12.8 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and its mass is 731 Earth masses, also larger than Earth's and roughly 2.3 times Jupiter's mass. Its mean density is 1.93 g/cm³, 0.35 times Earth's. TOI-1820 b completes an orbit every 4.86 days.
