TOI-181 b: A Jupiter-Like World Around a Cooler, Smaller Star

TOI-181 is a K-type star 314 light-years away, with a mass of 0.822 solar masses, a radius of 0.745 solar radii, a temperature of 4990 K, and an age of 5.4 billion years. Its reported mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is TOI-181 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2023. Its radius of 6.96 Earth radii exceeds four times Earth's radius, placing it in the Jupiter-like class, and its mass of 46.2 Earth masses is larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 4.53 days. Its mean density is 0.756 g/cm³, 0.137 times Earth's.
