TOI-1268 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

TOI-1268 is a K V star 357 light-years away. Its spectral type places it among the cooler, orange dwarf classes. The star is 0.39 billion years old, holds 0.9 solar masses, spans 0.86 solar radii, and has a temperature of 5260 K. Its radius is smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is TOI-1268 b, a Jupiter-like world found by transit in 2022. It orbits every 8.16 days. Its radius of 9.1 Earth radii exceeds Earth's, and its mass of 96.4 Earth masses also exceeds Earth's. The two size comparisons share a direction: both its radius and its mass are larger than Earth's. Its mean density is 0.705 g/cm³, 0.128 times Earth's.
