Kepler-991 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-991 is a star located 1270 light-years away. It has one known planet, Kepler-991 b, discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. The host star is 3.47 billion years old and has a mass of 0.64 solar masses and a radius of 0.61 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature of 4390 K is cooler than the Sun's.

Kepler-991 b is a Neptune-like planet, a size class that reaches 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius of 2.54 Earth radii is larger than Earth's, while its orbital period of 82.5 days is the time it takes to complete one orbit.
