Kepler-972 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

Kepler-972 is a single star located 3910 light-years away, and one planet orbits it. The host star is estimated to be 2.82 billion years old, with a mass of 1.15 solar masses, a radius of 1.22 solar radii, and a temperature of 6150 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are both larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The system's only known planet is Kepler-972 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2016. It completes an orbit in 7.04 days and has a radius of 4.65 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. That radius places it beyond the Jupiter-like threshold of four Earth radii.
