Kepler-913 and Its Two Planets

Kepler-913 is a star located 3230 light-years away, and two planets have been found orbiting it. The star is 5.62 billion years old, with a mass of 0.63 solar masses and a radius of 0.61 solar radii. Its temperature is 4690 K, which is cooler than the Sun's. Both the star's mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's.

Both planets were detected by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-913 b was discovered in 2016 and is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class reaching 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 2.06 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it has the smallest radius among the listed planets. Its orbital period is 10.3 days, the longest year among the listed planets.

Kepler-913 c was discovered in 2021 and is classified as Neptune-like, a size class reaching 4 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 3.86 Earth radii, larger than Earth's and the largest among the listed planets. Its orbital period is 5.94 days, the shortest year among the listed planets.
