Kepler-91 and Its Giant Planet

Kepler-91 is a K3 star located 4220 light-years away. It has one known planet. The star is 4.86 billion years old, with a mass of 1.31 solar masses and a radius of 6.3 solar radii. Its temperature is 4550 K, cooler than the Sun.

The planet Kepler-91 b is a Jupiter-like world discovered by transit in 2013. It completes an orbit every 6.25 days. Its radius is 15.3 Earth radii, and its mass is 257 Earth masses, both larger than Earth's corresponding values. Repeated brightness dips during transits revealed the planet and established its orbital period.
