Kepler-904 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-904 is a star located 3190 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 3.02 billion years old and has a mass of 1.16 solar masses, a radius of 1.25 solar radii, and a temperature of 6160 K. Its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.

The sole planet, Kepler-904 b, is classified as a Super-Earth, meaning its radius stays within 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.77 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. It was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-904 b completes an orbit every 3.02 days.
