Kepler-874 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-874 is a single-star system 3530 light-years away. The star is 3.31 billion years old and contains 1.09 solar masses, with a radius of 1.13 solar radii. Its temperature of 6020 K is hotter than the Sun's.

One planet orbits this host. Kepler-874 b is a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-874 b completes an orbit in 40.1 days and has a radius of 3.94 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
