Kepler-785 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

Kepler-785 is a star located 2090 light-years away, with one planet known to orbit it. The host star is 2.82 billion years old and has a reported mass estimate of 0.77 solar masses, a reported radius estimate of 0.71 solar radii, and a temperature of 4740 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-785 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, which detects the small dip in a star's observed brightness when a planet passes in front of it from our viewpoint. It is a Jupiter-like planet, a size class for planets exceeding 4 times Earth's radius. Kepler-785 b has a radius of 13 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 1.97 days.
