Kepler-776 and Its Solitary Known Planet

Kepler-776 is a star 2370 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.37 billion years old, has a mass of 0.83 solar masses, a radius of 0.78 solar radii, and a temperature of 5070 K. Its reported mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler.

The planet Kepler-776 b was discovered by transit in 2016, when it passed in front of its star and produced a small dip in observed brightness. It orbits every 4.9 days. With a radius of 1.28 Earth radii, it is larger than Earth and falls within the Earth-like size class, which covers planets up to 1.5 times Earth's radius.
