Kepler-737 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-737 is a star located 669 light-years away, and one planet has been reported in orbit around it. The host star is 3.89 billion years old, with a mass of 0.51 solar masses and a radius of 0.48 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 3810 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The system's planet is Kepler-737 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-737 b completes an orbit every 28.6 days and has a radius of 1.96 Earth radii. That reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's, placing the planet within the Super-Earth size class, which extends to 2.5 times Earth's radius.
