Kepler-723 and Its Jupiter-Like Planet

Kepler-723 is a star located 3500 light-years away. It has an age of 4.57 billion years, a mass of 0.92 solar masses, a radius of 0.89 solar radii, and a temperature of 5540 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is Kepler-723 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-723 b completes an orbit every 4.08 days, and its radius is 12.2 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
