Kepler-704 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-704 is a star 4010 light-years away with a single known planet in orbit. The star is 5.13 billion years old and has a mass of 0.97 solar masses and a radius of 0.96 solar radii. Its temperature of 5620 K is cooler than the Sun's. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness, and repeated dips help establish orbital periods.

Kepler-704 b is a Neptune-like planet discovered by transit in 2016. Its orbital period is 3.76 days. With a radius of 2.61 Earth radii, its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
