Kepler-691 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-691 is a star located 910 light-years away. It is 3.98 billion years old, has a mass of 0.53 solar masses, a radius of 0.5 solar radii, and a temperature of 3720 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this star.

That planet is Kepler-691 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-691 b has an orbital period of 8.11 days and a radius of 2.09 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's, placing it within the Super-Earth size class, which reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius.
