Kepler-615 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-615 is a star with one known planet, Kepler-615 b. The host star has a mass of 0.73 solar masses and a radius of 0.69 solar radii, making its reported mass and radius estimates smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is 4660 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 3.72 billion years.

Kepler-615 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods, and this planet's orbital period is 10.4 days. It is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.74 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
