Kepler-612 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-612 is a star located 4710 light-years away. It has a mass of 0.98 solar masses, a radius of 0.96 solar radii, and a temperature of 5690 K, and it is 4.47 billion years old. One planet orbits this host.

That planet is Kepler-612 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-612 b completes an orbit every 3.72 days and has a radius of 2.84 Earth radii, a reported radius estimate larger than Earth's.
