Kepler-605 and Its Two Planets

Kepler-605 is a star located 1820 light-years away. Its reported mass is 0.91 solar masses, its radius is 0.88 solar radii, and its temperature is 5460 K. The star is 4.47 billion years old. Its mass, radius, and temperature are all smaller or cooler than the Sun's. Two planets are known to orbit this host.

Kepler-605 b and Kepler-605 c were both discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-605 b is an Earth-like planet with a radius of 1.44 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 3.38 days. Kepler-605 c is a Sub-Earth with a radius of 0.86 Earth radii, smaller than Earth's, and an orbital period of 2.36 days. Among the listed planets, Kepler-605 c has the shortest year and the smallest radius, while Kepler-605 b has the longest year and the largest radius.
