Kepler-602 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-602 is a star 3780 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 3.16 billion years old and holds 1.08 solar masses within a radius of 1.13 solar radii. Its temperature of 6060 K makes it hotter than the Sun.

The system's only cataloged planet is Kepler-602 b, a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet crosses in front of its star from our viewpoint, dimming the observed brightness slightly; repeated dips help establish the planet's orbital period. Kepler-602 b completes one orbit every 15.3 days, and its radius of 2.09 Earth radii is larger than Earth's.
