Kepler-578 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-578 is a star 1770 light-years away with one known planet in orbit. The host star is estimated to be 4.68 billion years old, with a mass of 0.87 solar masses and a radius of 0.83 solar radii, making both its reported mass and radius estimates smaller than the Sun's. Its temperature is 5330 K, cooler than the Sun's.

The sole listed planet, Kepler-578 b, is classified as a Super-Earth and was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-578 b completes an orbit every 1.62 days, and its radius is 2 Earth radii, larger than Earth's radius.
