Kepler-570 and Its Lone Known Planet

Kepler-570 is a star located 1,850 light-years away. It is 5.01 billion years old, holds 0.93 solar masses, spans 0.9 solar radii, and has a temperature of 5500 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One known planet orbits this star.

That planet is Kepler-570 b, a Super-Earth discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It completes an orbit every 4.3 days and has a radius of 2.45 Earth radii, a reported radius estimate larger than Earth's. A Super-Earth reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius, so the planet sits within that size class by radius alone.
