Kepler-563 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-563 is a star 1840 light-years away with one known planet in orbit around it. The host star is 5.37 billion years old and has a mass of 0.8 solar masses, a radius of 0.77 solar radii, and a temperature of 5070 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, as is its reported radius estimate, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The single planet is Kepler-563 b, a Neptune-like world discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-563 b orbits every 22.2 days and has a radius of 3.09 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. Within the size classes used for planets, a Neptune-like planet reaches 4 times Earth's radius.
