Kepler-547 and Its Planet

Kepler-547 is a star located 1240 light-years away. It has one planet, Kepler-547 b. The host star is 2.88 billion years old, with a mass of 0.78 solar masses and a radius of 0.73 solar radii. Its temperature is 4830 K. The star's reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

Kepler-547 b was discovered by the transit method in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness, and repeated dips help establish orbital periods. The planet completes an orbit every 6.01 days and has a radius of 4 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. As a Jupiter-like planet, it exceeds 4 times Earth's radius.
