Kepler-409 and Its Lone Known Planet

Kepler-409 is a star 222 light-years away with a single known planet. The host star is 6.8 billion years old, with a reported mass of 0.92 solar masses, a radius of 0.89 solar radii, and a temperature of 5460 K. Its mass, radius, and temperature are all reported as smaller or cooler than the Sun's.

The only planet known around Kepler-409 is Kepler-409 b, discovered in 2014 by the transit method, in which a planet crosses in front of its star and causes a slight dip in brightness. It is classified as Earth-like, meaning its radius stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius, and its radius is reported at 1.2 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its mass is reported as an upper limit of 6 Earth masses, and it orbits Kepler-409 every 69 days.
