Kepler-318 and Its Two Planets

Kepler-318 is a star located 1600 light-years away. It is 1.62 billion years old, has 1.02 solar masses, 0.94 solar radii, and a temperature of 5710 K. Its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's. Two planets orbit this host: Kepler-318 b and Kepler-318 c, both discovered in 2014 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness.

Kepler-318 b is a Jupiter-like planet with a radius of 4.71 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 4.66 days. Among the listed planets, it has the shortest year and the largest radius by reported estimates. Kepler-318 c is a Neptune-like planet with a radius of 3.68 Earth radii, also larger than Earth's, and an orbital period of 11.8 days. Among the listed planets, it has the longest year and the smallest radius by reported estimates.
