Kepler-284: A Distant Star With Two Known Planets

Kepler-284 is a star located 3370 light-years away. It hosts two known planets. The star is estimated to be 4.47 billion years old and has a reported mass of 0.91 solar masses, a radius of 0.87 solar radii, and a temperature of 5490 K. Its mass and radius are smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature is cooler.

Both planets were discovered by transit in 2014. Kepler-284 b is classified as a Super-Earth with a radius of 2.24 Earth radii and an orbital period of 12.7 days. Kepler-284 c is Neptune-like, with a radius of 2.61 Earth radii and an orbital period of 37.5 days. Both planets are larger than Earth. Among the listed planets, Kepler-284 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius, while Kepler-284 c has the longest year and the largest radius.
