Kepler-269 is a single star located 7360 light-years away. It is 4.57 billion years old, with a mass of 0.92 solar masses and a radius of 0.89 solar radii. Its temperature is 5510 K, cooler than the Sun's. Two planets are known to orbit this host.
Both planets were discovered in 2014 by the transit method, in which a planet passing in front of its star from our viewpoint causes a small dip in observed brightness, and repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-269 b is a Super-Earth with an orbital period of 5.33 days and a radius of 2.47 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Among the listed planets, it has the shortest year and the largest radius. Kepler-269 c is also a Super-Earth, with an orbital period of 8.13 days and a radius of 1.69 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, it has the longest year and the smallest radius.
