Kepler-267: A Cool Dwarf with Three Super-Earths

Kepler-267 is an M1 V star, a small, cool red dwarf, located 864 light-years away. Its reported mass is 0.56 solar masses and its reported radius is 0.54 solar radii, both smaller than the Sun's. The star's reported temperature is 3970 K, cooler than the Sun's, and its age is 3.31 billion years. It hosts three planets: Kepler-267 b, Kepler-267 c, and Kepler-267 d.

All three planets are classified as Super-Earths and were discovered in 2014 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Each has a reported radius larger than Earth's. Kepler-267 b has a radius of 1.98 Earth radii and an orbital period of 3.35 days. Kepler-267 c has a radius of 2.13 Earth radii and an orbital period of 6.88 days. Kepler-267 d has a radius of 2.27 Earth radii and an orbital period of 28.5 days.

Among the listed planets, Kepler-267 b has the shortest year by reported estimates, at 3.35 days, and the smallest radius by reported estimates, at 1.98 Earth radii. Kepler-267 c has the second-shortest year, at 6.88 days, and the second-smallest radius, at 2.13 Earth radii. Kepler-267 d has the longest year, at 28.5 days, and the largest radius, at 2.27 Earth radii.
