Kepler-1855 b: A Close-In Earth-Like World

Kepler-1855 is a small, cool star with one known planet. Its radius is 0.288 solar radii and its mass is 0.275 solar masses, both smaller than the Sun's. The star's temperature is 3340 K, cooler than the Sun.

The system's only cataloged planet, Kepler-1855 b, was discovered by transit in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. The planet has an orbital period of 0.727 days and is classified as Earth-like, a size class that stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.22 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
