Kepler-1828 b: A Super-Earth in a Distant System

Kepler-1828 is a star located 2840 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star has a mass of 0.97 solar masses, a radius of 0.959 solar radii, and a temperature of 5530 K. Each of these reported values is smaller or cooler than the corresponding value for the Sun.

The planet, Kepler-1828 b, is classified as a Super-Earth. It was discovered by the transit method in 2021, when it passed in front of its star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1828 b has a radius of 2.12 Earth radii, making it larger than Earth, and an orbital period of 10.3 days.
