Kepler-1775 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1775 is a star located 2140 light-years from Earth, and it hosts one known planet. The star has a mass of 1.08 solar masses, a radius of 1.27 solar radii, and a temperature of 5910 K. Its reported radius estimate is larger than the Sun's.

The one known planet is Kepler-1775 b, a Neptune-like world discovered in 2021 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1775 b completes an orbit every 85.7 days and has a radius of 3.65 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.

Neptune-like is a size class: a Neptune-like planet reaches 4 times Earth's radius, compared with the 2.5 times Earth's radius that defines a Super-Earth and the 1.5 times Earth's radius that defines an Earth-like planet.
