Kepler-1770 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1770 is a star 1900 light-years away with a mass of 0.941 solar masses, a radius of 1.01 solar radii, and a temperature of 5600 K. Its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet, Kepler-1770 b, is Neptune-like, a size class that reaches four times Earth's radius. Discovered by transit in 2021, the planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness; repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Its reported radius estimate is 2.84 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it completes an orbit every 16.8 days.
