Kepler-1737 b: A Jupiter-like World Around a Quiet Star

Kepler-1737 is a single star with a reported mass of 0.834 solar masses and a radius of 0.881 solar radii. Its reported temperature is 5040 K, cooler than the Sun's. One planet orbits this star.

That planet is Kepler-1737 b, a Jupiter-like world discovered by the transit method in 2021. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness that can repeat and reveal an orbital period. Kepler-1737 b completes one orbit every 64.6 days, and its radius is 5.4 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Jupiter-like planets exceed four times Earth's radius, placing this planet firmly in that size class.

These figures are estimates and reported bounds, not exact values.
