Kepler-1635 and Its Neptune-Like Planet

Kepler-1635 is a star 3490 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.9 billion years old, has a mass of 0.89 solar masses, a radius of 0.85 solar radii, and a temperature of 5350 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1635 b was discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1635 b has an orbital period of 470 days and a radius of 3.64 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its Neptune-like class places it within four times Earth's radius.
