Kepler-1626 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1626 is a star located 4460 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is 1.55 billion years old, with a mass of 1.51 solar masses, a radius of 1.85 solar radii, and a temperature of 6830 K. Its reported mass, radius, and temperature are each larger or hotter than the Sun's corresponding values.

The planet, Kepler-1626 b, was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches 2.5 times Earth's radius. Kepler-1626 b has an orbital period of 4.14 days and a radius of 2.02 Earth radii. Its reported radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
