Kepler-1566 and Its Lone Planet

Kepler-1566 is a star located 1520 light-years away. It is 5.01 billion years old, has a mass of 0.84 solar masses, a radius of 0.81 solar radii, and a temperature of 5250 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, its reported radius estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. One planet is known to orbit this star.

That planet is Kepler-1566 b, discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It is a Sub-Earth, a size class for planets smaller than Earth. Its radius is 0.79 Earth radii, smaller than Earth's, and it completes an orbit in 0.54 days.
