Kepler-1487 is a star 3310 light-years away with two known planets. The host star is 1.95 billion years old and has a mass of 1.38 solar masses, a radius of 1.63 solar radii, and a temperature of 6540 K. Its mass and radius are larger than the Sun's, and it is hotter than the Sun.
Both planets were found by the transit method, which detects the small dip in a star's brightness when a planet crosses in front of it. Kepler-1487 b, discovered in 2016, is a Super-Earth with a radius of 2.13 Earth radii and an orbital period of 7.32 days, the shortest year among the listed planets. Kepler-1487 c, discovered in 2023, is Jupiter-like, with a radius of 7.97 Earth radii and an orbital period of 35.8 days, the longest among the listed planets. Both planets are larger than Earth, with Kepler-1487 b the smallest and Kepler-1487 c the largest by radius among the listed planets.
