Kepler-1483 and Its Super-Earth
Kepler-1483 is a star 4150 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 2.4 billion years old and has a mass of 1.25 solar masses and a radius of 1.4 solar radii. Its temperature is 6340 K, and its reported mass, radius, and temperature estimates are all larger or hotter than the Sun's.
The single planet, Kepler-1483 b, is a Super-Earth discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1483 b has an orbital period of 9.51 days and a radius of 1.52 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
