Kepler-1471 is a star located 3190 light-years away, and two planets have been detected in its orbit. The host star is 4.57 billion years old, with a mass of 0.95 solar masses, a radius of 0.93 solar radii, and a temperature of 5660 K. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.
Both planets were detected by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1471 b was discovered in 2016. It is an Earth-like planet, a size class that stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius, and it has a radius of 1.41 Earth radii. Its orbital period, the time it takes to complete one orbit, is 3.64 days. Kepler-1471 c was discovered in 2023. It is a Super-Earth, a size class reaching 2.5 times Earth's radius, with a radius of 1.88 Earth radii and an orbital period of 11.6 days. Among the listed planets, Kepler-1471 b has the shortest year and the smallest radius, while Kepler-1471 c has the longest year and the largest radius. Both planets have reported radius estimates larger than Earth's.
