Kepler-1397 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1397 is a star located 3910 light-years away, and it hosts one known planet. The star is estimated to be 3.55 billion years old, with a mass of 1.09 solar masses and a radius of 1.12 solar radii. Its temperature is 6030 K, hotter than the Sun, and both its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1397 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, which detects the small dip in a star's brightness when a planet passes in front of it from our viewpoint; repeated dips help establish the planet's orbital period. Kepler-1397 b is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that compares radius with Earth's and reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius. Its radius is 1.72 Earth radii, larger than Earth's, and it completes one orbit every 47.4 days.
