Kepler-136: A Distant Star With Two Super-Earths

Kepler-136 is a star 1370 light-years away with two known planets orbiting it. The star is estimated to be 2.75 billion years old, with a mass of 1.21 solar masses and a radius of 1.29 solar radii. Its temperature is 6190 K.

Both planets were discovered in 2014 by the transit method. Kepler-136 b is a Super-Earth with an orbital period of 11.6 days and a radius of 2.05 Earth radii. Kepler-136 c is also a Super-Earth, with an orbital period of 16.4 days and a radius of 1.99 Earth radii. Among the listed planets, Kepler-136 b has the shortest year and the largest radius, while Kepler-136 c has the longest year and the smallest radius.

The star's mass and radius are larger than the Sun's, and its temperature is hotter than the Sun's. Both planets' radii are larger than Earth's.
