Kepler-1335 and Its Earth-Like Planet

Kepler-1335 is a star located 2030 light-years away with one planet in orbit around it. The host star is 4.9 billion years old, with a mass of 0.77 solar masses and a radius of 0.74 solar radii. Its temperature is 4900 K, which is cooler than the Sun's. The star's reported mass and radius estimates are both smaller than the Sun's.

The planet Kepler-1335 b was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, which detects the small dip in a star's brightness when a planet passes in front of it. This planet has an orbital period of 6.26 days, the time it takes to complete one orbit. Its radius is 1.45 Earth radii, making it larger than Earth. That radius places it within the Earth-like size class, which covers planets up to 1.5 times Earth's radius.
