Kepler-1246 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-1246 is a star located 1420 light-years away. It has 0.73 solar masses, 0.69 solar radii, and a temperature of 4610 K; its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's. The star is 3.89 billion years old and hosts one planet.

That planet is Kepler-1246 b, an Earth-like world discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Repeated dips help establish orbital periods. Kepler-1246 b completes one orbit every 11.3 days and has a radius of 1.36 Earth radii, larger than Earth's.
