Kepler-121 is a star located 1670 light-years away. It hosts two planets, both discovered by transit in 2014, when each passed in front of the star from our viewpoint and caused a small dip in observed brightness. The star is 4.47 billion years old, has a mass of 0.86 solar masses and a radius of 0.82 solar radii, and a temperature of 5350 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are smaller than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is cooler than the Sun's.
The two planets are Kepler-121 b and Kepler-121 c, both classified as Super-Earths, meaning their radii reach up to 2.5 times Earth's. Kepler-121 b has a radius of 2.34 Earth radii and an orbital period of 3.18 days, the shortest year among the listed planets. Kepler-121 c has a radius of 2.27 Earth radii and an orbital period of 41 days, the longest year among the listed planets and the smallest radius of the pair. Both planets' reported radius estimates are larger than Earth's.
