Kepler-1201 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1201 is a star 3080 light-years away with one known planet in orbit. The host star is 2.95 billion years old, has a mass of 1.15 solar masses, a radius of 1.24 solar radii, and a temperature of 6180 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter.

The planet Kepler-1201 b is classified as a Super-Earth and was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. It has an orbital period of 15.2 days and a radius of 2.29 Earth radii. That radius estimate is larger than Earth's.
