Kepler-1193 and Its Earth-Like Planet

Kepler-1193 is a star 2620 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 5.01 billion years old and has a mass of 1.08 solar masses, a radius of 1.21 solar radii, and a temperature of 5910 K. Its reported mass and radius estimates are larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's.

The only planet known to orbit Kepler-1193 is Kepler-1193 b, an Earth-like planet discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1193 b has an orbital period of 2.83 days and a radius of 1.32 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's.
