Kepler-1139 and Its Earth-like Planet

Kepler-1139 is a star 1610 light-years away with one known planet. The host star is 4.47 billion years old and has a mass of 0.94 solar masses and a radius of 0.91 solar radii. Its reported mass estimate is smaller than the Sun's, and its temperature of 5550 K is cooler than the Sun's.

The sole listed planet is Kepler-1139 b, an Earth-like planet discovered by transit in 2016. A transit occurs when a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint, causing a small dip in observed brightness. Kepler-1139 b has an orbital period of 0.813 days and a radius of 1.19 Earth radii, larger than Earth's. Its classification as Earth-like means it stays within 1.5 times Earth's radius.
