Kepler-1119 and Its Super-Earth

Kepler-1119 is a star located 5730 light-years away. It is 3.09 billion years old and has a mass of 1.11 solar masses and a radius of 1.17 solar radii. Its temperature is 6080 K. The star's reported mass estimate is larger than the Sun's, and its reported temperature is hotter than the Sun's. One planet orbits this host.

That planet, Kepler-1119 b, is classified as a Super-Earth, a size class that reaches up to 2.5 times Earth's radius. It was discovered in 2016 by the transit method, in which a planet passes in front of its star from our viewpoint and causes a small dip in observed brightness. Its radius is 1.92 Earth radii, which is larger than Earth's. It completes an orbit every 8.33 days.
